How Company Car Tax Works

Company car tax is calculated using the vehicle P11D value, CO₂ emissions, BIK percentage and your income tax band. This is known as a Benefit in Kind (BIK) charge.

  • P11D Value: List price including options, delivery and VAT.
  • BIK Percentage: Determined by CO₂ emissions and fuel type.
  • Taxable Benefit: P11D value × BIK percentage.
  • Your Tax: Taxable benefit × your tax band (20%, 40% or 45%).
  • Diesel Vehicles: May include a 4% supplement.
